2010 Canadian Science Policy Centre Conference Details

Toronto, Ontario (June 3, 2010)- The Canadian Science Policy Centre has announced the date and themes of its annual conference, as well as issued calls for sponsors and abstracts. The second annual Canadian Science Policy Conference (CSPC) will be held October 20-22, 2010, in the heart of downtown Montréal, Québec. The event will bring together more than 500 high-profile scientists, executives, government officials, academics and industry leaders for an exchange of ideas, and will provide a unique opportunity for networking amongst Canada’s diverse science policy stakeholders.

CSPC’s annual meeting is Canada’s most comprehensive, multi-sector, multi-disciplinary event devoted to science policy. “With this year’s conference we continue our collective efforts to build a robust science policy network in Canada,” says Mehrdad Hairi, CSPC chair. Under the motto “Building Bridges for the Future of Science Policy”, CSPC 2010 is organized around issues of enduring and immediate concern to Canadian scientists, industry, government, and policy-makers. All stakeholders in the Canadian science policy community are encouraged to submit proposals for presentations under the program themes:

Increasing the Productivity of Canada’s Economy using Science and Technology
Global Perspectives on Science and Technology
Creating and Retaining Scientific Talent in Canada
A Glance at BioScience in Canada
Major Issues in Canadian Science Policy
