TITLE: Manager, Marketing and Programs
LOCATION: Ottawa
SUMMARY:
Reporting to the President, the Manager, Marketing and Programs will be accountable for strategic marketing at BIOTECanada.
The Manager will be responsible for defining and implementing the marketing programs and strategies to raise the profile of the association and its members. This position serves a vital role in highlighting the diversity of our association members, while creatively offering dialogue around the new technologies. The position supports the achievement of the association objectives by contributing to the development and implementation of marketing programs/projects which:
• Present a fresh and current face of biotechnology, member companies and the association.
• Serve the membership of the organization with targeted programs and projects designed to provide greater information sharing both within the industry and to the general public.
The successful candidate will be detailed-oriented and able to handle multiple projects across functional areas while effectively working in a volunteer member organization. Bilingualism is an asset.
ROLE:
• Prepare, create, procure and distribute advertising and promotional materials including all signage, translations, logos, written & graphics media.
• Function as Association web editor and designer.
• Manage the creative, production and distribution of BIOTECanada communications pieces.
• Lead the development of project specific marketing campaigns and budget which support the association objectives.
• Lead aspects of key association programs like the Gold Leaf Awards.
• Manage the association brand and style guide.
QUALIFICATIONS:
The Manager, Marketing & Programs will possess the following characteristics:
• Highly organized, selfmotivated and be able to work within a resultsoriented, highenergy, dynamic work environment
• Ability to think creatively and strategically, while managing a number of projects simultaneously
• Exceptional interpersonal skills, energy, and enthusiasm
• Superior oral and written communication skills
• Successful track record in marketing programs and project management
• Knowledge of website maintenance
• Familiarity with publishing software such as Microsoft Publisher, Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop
• University graduate in a related area of study
• Bilingual (English – French) is an asset
