Government of Ontario invests in agriculture with new IQF Facility
Announced today in Delhi, Ontario, the government of Ontario through the Ontario Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs has partnered with Naturally Norfolk, a Delhi-based company specializing in the processing of frozen fruits and vegetables, to launch the development of a new Individual Quick Freeze (IQF) facility in this south central Ontario community.

Government of Canada Invests in Research on Anti-Viral Drugs
The Government of Canada is investing $2 million to support the International Consortium on Anti-Virals, a Canadian-based consortium of scientists who conduct research on low-cost antiviral therapies that can be used to combat viral infections including influenza.

Blood Transfusion Service in France Completes 20,000 Tests and Establishes Amorfix EP-vCJD™ Test in a Second Blood Center
Amorfix announced it has initiated the second phase of its large-scale study in France to demonstrate the feasibility of routine testing of blood donations for vCJD. Amorfix’s EP-vCJD™ test has been transferred to the Etablissement Français du Sang de Pyrénées Méditerrannée (EFS-PM) in Montpellier, France for the testing of an additional 20,000 blood donor samples.

AMORFIX CLOSES $3.3 MILLION PRIVATE PLACEMENT
TORONTO, Ontario – April 29, 2009 – Amorfix Life Sciences Ltd. announced today that it has closed a non-brokered private placement, pursuant to which a total of 5,146,300 units (Units) were issued at a price of $0.65 per Unit for gross proceeds of $3,345,095. The size of the offering was increased from the amount previously announced to accommodate over-subscriptions.

Sanofi Pasteur Donates Nearly $4 Million to Fund Vaccine Research that is Unique in Canada
Chair of the IWK Health Centre Foundation, Heather Sutherland, and President and CEO of the IWK Health Centre, Anne McGuire, today announced a $3.8 million donation to the Canadian Center for Vaccinology from sanofi pasteur, the vaccine division of sanofi-aventis Group. The multi-million dollar donation will be used to support human vaccine research that is unique in Canada.
