TBI Policy Initiatives Letter to the Honourable Dalton McGuinty

As you would expect, there are a number of policy initiatives within the jurisdiction of your Government that could complement actions being taken by the Government of Canada to help the sector weather these difficult times and position it to grow as the economy strengthens. We have been consulting with the business leaders within our sector and will be transmitting to you shortly under separate cover some of our current thinking.
Bioscience Regional Spotlight: Sarnia-Lambton: Canada’s Chemical Valley commits to biotech
Traditionally a Canadian hub for petrochemicals and refined petroleum products, the Sarnia-Lambton area has expanded its commitment to research and innovation into the bio-products sector as well. At the forefront of this activity is the Sarnia-Lambton Economic Partnership, a public/private sector body whose membership includes industrial, education and municipal interests across Sarnia-Lambton. George Mallay is the organization’s general manager.

January 15th: Pharmaceutical Toxicology: The Science of Safety
The first TBI breakfast meeting of 2009 took place January 15th, with more than 80 members and non-members in attendance. It featured two U.S. company presentations, one a contract research organization, the other a research company providing services in preclinical profiling and modeling.
